Basic Hanja 1000 teaches Korean children the first 1,000 Chinese characters by:

• showing the evolution of pictograms from what they represent to their modern appearance,
• demonstrating proper brushstroke technique for each character,
• testing users’ growing mastery with games, and
• enhancing comprehension by using the characters in context in animated traditional Chinese sayings and Chinese zodiac illustrations.

This animation from the reading-in-context section is for the saying “one stone, two birds,” which is similar to the English saying, “kill two birds with one stone.”
